Hello one and all, welcome to the beginning of a new school year and a new beginning of Hallow! Whether you’re new to this space or an old friend of the blog, I’m so excited to have you here!

This is Hallow — An Interfaith Blog. My name is Jess, I created this blog. This is a short tour as we hop back into the swing of things.

I created this blog because I saw a huge desire amongst college students, specifically in Provo, UT, to learn about other faiths, but not a ton of resources for them to learn and get involved. I see my blog as an important step for those people, where they can start becoming acquainted with this world. Hopefully, this blog will be a jumping-off point for lives of interfaith engagement, helping people become comfortable with new ideas and joining in with diverse communities.

Vision Statement: The vision of Hallow — An Interfaith Blog is to promote interfaith understanding and engagement amongst BYU’s student community, where a majority of students lack a diverse religious background.

Mission Statement: The mission of Hallow — An Interfaith Blog is to educate BYU students about world religions using correct, compassionate information, thus empowering those students to engage in their present and future interfaith communities.

Here, we strive to share personal interfaith experiences, as well as provide accurate information about religion using trusted sources. This is a process of growth for a writer just as much as for a reader, so this blog is really a group journey of discovery!

This year, I hope that Hallow might grow into something even bigger. I want this to be a place where anyone can come to learn and feel comfortable. Hence the pretty informal nature of all of this, where we interact on social media, contribute to a religion playlist, and learn about community events.

So please, come back, often. I’m excited to see where this new year takes us!
